Fire Instructor I

A Fire Instructor I is a fire service instructor who has demonstrated the knowledge and ability to:

  •  Deliver instruction effectively from a prepared lesson plan, including instructional aids and evaluation instruments;
  •   Adapt lesson plans to the unique requirements of the students and authority having jurisdiction;
  •   Organize the learning environment so that learning is maximized;
  •   Meet the record-keeping requirements of authority having jurisdiction.

This is a 48 course that will provide you with the basic knowledge of being an instructor.  Even though you are limited as to what areas of training your involvement will be, is does provide you with a solid foundation of what it takes to be an instructor.  This foundation will assist you in your development in becoming a successful Fire Instructor.  This course follows NFPA 1041 and also covers many other NFPA Standards as well.  To view the course curriculum and/or the skills that you will be tested over please click on the appropriate links below.  Our course curriculum comes directly from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association.
